Derrick Reagins is the founder of and Managing Director at Alden Advisors. He has 20 years of industry experience in information technology, investment banking and private equity. Mr. Reagins has a broad background in mergers and acquisitions, corporate business development, strategic marketing and technology.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Reagins provided growth advisory services to middle-market companies in the technology, consumer products and manufacturing industries through acquisition, capital raising and operational strategies. Prior to this, Mr. Reagins worked with Texas Instruments in the mobile device processor group where he led the P&L planning and developed the global marketing strategies for emerging technologies. Additionally, Mr. Reagins was an integral member of the Business Objects’ (now SAP) corporate business development team, where he developed and executed corporate strategy through M&A, intellectual property management, equity investments and strategic alliance activities. He also identified, evaluated and invested in early-, mid- and late-stage private equity investments throughout Western Europe for the Paris, France-based Partech International. Mr. Reagins has diverse operational experience ranging from business development and product management activities in Asia to the management of a software development team in France.
Mr. Reagins holds an MBA specializing in M&A and Intellectual Property Management from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, a MSEE degree from Georgia Tech, a MSEE degree from École Supérieure de l’Électricité (a renowned French engineering university), and a BSEE from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. Mr. Reagins is bilingual in English and French and is a Registered Representative of StillPoint Capital, LLC, Member FINRA and SIPC, Tampa, FL and holds the Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative), and the Series 82 (Private Securities Offering).
Mr. Stachiw is a Managing Director at Alden Advisors. Mark brings multiple decades of C-level experience as well as strategic and operational leadership to dealmaking. He has been instrumental in investing in and advising middle market companies and their boards toward higher levels of growth. Mr. Stachiw leverages his legal, operational, and deep industry experience as a client advocate in executing mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Alden Advisors, Mark held various senior leadership roles, ultimately becoming the Vice Chairman, General Counsel and Secretary, at MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE:PCS), a $6 billion dollar Fortune 500 public wireless communications company, where he was responsible for board governance, legal, regulatory and external affairs and, at times, human resources and corporate development. He guided MetroPCS through its IPO in 2007, raised an additional $28 billion in debt, and was instrumental in quintupling the company’s addressable market and over sextupling its revenue. Subsequently, Mr. Stachiw played a key role in leading the company’s merger with T‐Mobile in 2012, then the largest domestic merger ever announced. Prior to MetroPCS, Mark was a senior executive and chief legal, external affairs and regulatory officer for multiple divisions of several other publicly-traded communications companies and an entrepreneur who started several technology companies.
Mr. Stachiw earned both a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. He holds the distinction of being a member of the Order of the Coif, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi.
Mr. Neveling is a Managing Director at Alden Advisors. He has over 20 years of experience focused on increasing shareholder value as both a trusted advisor and corporate executive.
Prior to joining Alden Advisors, Mr. Neveling served as Head of M&A and Strategic Initiatives for Xome, a subsidiary of Mr. Cooper (NASDAQ: COOP). Before this, he held key executive leadership roles with Assurant Mortgage Solutions, a business unit of Assurant (NYSE: AIZ), where he led numerous strategic M&A and operational transformation initiatives. Mr. Neveling previously served as Chief Financial Officer for eMortgage Logic, a middle market financial services company, where he provided financial management, operational and strategic planning, and corporate development expertise. Prior to these operational roles, he provided M&A advisory, capital raising, and consulting services to middle market companies across various industries ranging from semiconductors and software to consumer products, financial services, industrial manufacturing and government contracting.
Mr. Neveling holds a BBA and MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is an advisory board member and past president of the DFW Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and is an advisory board member of the Hicks, Muse, Tate, and Furst Center for Private Equity Finance at the McCombs School of Business.

Mr. Wrappe is a Managing Director at Alden Advisors. He has a career of over 40 years serving in executive and consulting roles with world class technology companies in the wireless, location, and sensor ecosystems. Within these areas, he has applied this broad experience and an extensive global network of industry leaders and experts to create value for clients. He has created value through strategic acquisitions of point products and emerging technologies, new business development, as well as capital formation and M&A.
Mr. Wrappe has successfully participated in the full technology ecosystem spanning wireless carriers, from OEM’s to component and technology suppliers. As VP Products at SnapTrack, the inventor of Assisted GPS, Mr. Wrappe led the server and IC product teams that ultimately led to the firm’s acquisition by Qualcomm for $1B. Continuing at Qualcomm post-acquisition, Mr. Wrappe served as SVP Marketing and Product Management as A-GPS became a mass market product reaching over 4.4B units as of 2018.
In other operational roles, Mr. Wrappe has held P&L and product roles that resulted in service, system, and IP/technology successes. Notably, for Hughes Network Systems, he led the TDMA, CDMA, and MobileSat system areas growing new product revenue to over $10M per year. At TCSI, Mr. Wrappe managed the business launch of the digital cellular area that delivered fully integrated solutions for Japanese and US TDMA solutions. Mr. Wrappe has leveraged his strategic acumen to sponsored several venture investments, including Sierra Wireless and SnapTrack while Strategic Director of TI’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. As a board advisor, he has assisted Global Locate (acquired by Broadcom) and Magnolia Broadband (licensor of Uplink Diversity/MIMO to Google).
Mr. Wrappe earned an MBA from the University of Chicago in Finance and International Business and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Wrappe is based in Silicon Valley.
Sunil Kallerackal is a Managing Director at Alden Advisors. He has spent more than 20 years, helping companies add value in strategic business development and growth partnerships. Established enterprises and startups equally respect Mr. Kallerackal’s experience. He has incubated several businesses, scaled global teams (including R&D, product management, and sales), and led successful investments and mid-market technology exits.
Prior to joining Alden Advisors, Mr. Kallerackal held senior management and operating board positions at international corporations, including Marvell, Avago, Agilent, ST Microelectronics, AnyData, and GEC Plessey Telecommunications. He has considerable experience quantifying value propositions and positioning companies competitively to engage customers, partners, and new markets. Mr. Kallerackal also possesses substantial U.S. cross-border experience completing transactions and partnerships in Germany, France, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, China, India, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. Mr. Kallerackal is an active participant in startup and incubator ecosystems and the venture capital community. He is also an advisor to senior leadership teams within the semiconductor, electronics, autonomous systems, and cloud infrastructure communities.
Mr. Kallerackal is a Wharton Business School Fellow from UPENN. He also holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Madras with thesis work jointly with IIT Madras on Silicon Compiler for supercomputing system development that earned the recognition of NASA and SERC.
Rich Nichols is a deal maker with over 30 years of experience mixing legal counsel, sports, politics, finance, venture capital, and technology. He is an expert in Strategic Legal Crisis Management and Communications and has provided sophisticated services that discretely and efficiently address the needs of corporate and individual clients facing high-profile mainstream and social media-driven crises that, if managed poorly, could extinguish their reputations. Mr. Nichols leverages his legal, finance, and entrepreneurial experience as a client advocate in executing mergers and acquisitions and providing strategic counsel.
Prior to joining Alden Advisors, Mr. Nichols held numerous influential positions, including: Executive Director and General Counsel to the 2015 World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team Players Association (WNTPA); Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development in Washington, D.C.; Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco; COO and General Counsel for an emerging mortgage bank in California; and CEO for a Silicon Valley-based sports-video streaming startup. Mr. Nichols, a two-time NCAA Division 1 All-American and member of the U.S. Track & Field Team, has provided expert business and legal advice and counsel to companies with business in the sports industry, professional sports leagues, teams, and players associations, college football bowl game organizations, collegiate and professional coaches and athletes including NFL Hall of Fame Wide Receiver, James Lofton, and Olympic and World Champions, Edwin Moses and Marion Jones.
Mr. Nichols received his A.B. from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree in Administration and Policy Analysis from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the UC Hastings College of the Law Foundation since January 2018.
Mr. Johnson is a VP at Alden Advisors where he leads business development initiatives, origination, and evaluation of investment opportunities for the firm.
Mr. Johnson has extensive experience and a successful track record of working on buy-side and as sell side transactions.
He has successfully worked with middle-market companies, having sourced numerous control-oriented equity transactions during his 8-year career in investment banking.
These transactions generated over $383 MM in enterprise value for his clients. Kevin’s experience spans all aspects of the investment life cycle, including sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, and deal structuring.
Prior to joining Alden Advisors,
Mr. Johnson worked at a boutique investment bank where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities. He is adept at leveraging his well-established relationships with Family Office and Private Equity Groups to help his clients’ close deals.
These relationships have helped him source strategic and financial partnerships in multiple sectors. Mr. Johnson earned his B.A. in Marketing from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Hutson was an M&A advisor with more than 25 years of C-level experience, operational leadership, and investment banking experience and guided our clients through all business cycle phases; from growth to exit and from turnaround to resurgence. Mr. Hutson contributed much to the culture and guiding principles of Alden Advisors and to the successful navigation of our clients toward their goals.
